Nadi Shodhana Pranayama : Alternate Nostril Breathing

1. First, we take a few rounds of INHALE AND EXHALE. 2. Ready your right index finger close right nostril, then INHALE through LEFT nostril. 3. Switch your left index finger close left nostril, then EXHALE through the RIGHT nostril. 4. Keep closing left nostril INHALE through the RIGHT nostril. 5. Switch your right index finger close right nostril, then EXHALE through LEFT nostril, then INHALE through LEFT nostril. 6. Repeat same pattern for few rounds. 7. Here is another variation, use your RIGHT thumb to close the right nostril and RIGHT ring finger to close left nostril. 8. Also rest your index and middle fingers to the THIRD EYE CHAKRA. 9. When we are closed, please EXHALE through LEFT nostril. 10. Slowly bring breathing back to normal. Q&A. Q. How often should I practice? A. Everyday or at least once a week Q. What is the best time to practice? A. Early morning with empty stomach or 3 hours after meal Q. What are the contraindications? A. Cold, Flu or Fever Full Stomach Blocked sinuses During Menstruation High Anxiety Q. How many rounds should I practice? A. For beginners - 4 to 6 rounds For advanced - 10 to 12 rounds or more Q. What are the benefits? A. Calming mind and body Balancing chakras Purifying nadis Improve concentration Q. What is the breath ration? A.
